Adelino 'Dinho' Ramos

On 15 January 2012, the main suspect in the killing of human rights defender Mr Adelino “Dinho” Ramos, Mr Ozias Vicente, was shot dead in the city of Vista Alegre do Abunã, Rondonia State.

Oziaz Vicente was arrested shortly after the killing of Adelino Ramos in May 2011, but was released in December.

It has been reported that the police investigation will consider the possibility that Ozias Vicente was murdered in an attempt to protect the identity of the intellectual authors of the killing of Adelino Ramos.
