Front Line welcomes the news that Mr Kayvan Samimi was released from detention on 2 March 2010. Kayvan Samimi was arrested on 15 June 2009 following the presidential elections and later held in solitary confinement in Evin Prison. Kayvan Samimi is a member of the Arbitrary Detentions Investigation Committee and the editor of the banned magazine Nameh.
Front Line calls upon the authorities in Iran to release the many other human rights defenders who remain in detention.
