On 21 June 2010, Farai Maguwu's bail application was denied by High Court Judge Justice Chinembiri Bhunu, who stated in his nine-page judgement that Magistrate Don Ndirowei had not misdirected himself in denying Farai Maguwu bail in a hearing on 10 June 2010.

Human rights defenders Mr Kanderam Hemram, Mr Ravi Majhi and Mr Madhusudan Badra remain in prison in Keonjhar, Orissa state, India, since their arrests between 10 and 13 July 2008. Kanderam Hemram, Ravi Majhi and Madhusudan Badra are members of Keonjhar Integrated Rural Development and Training Institute (KIRDTI), an organisation which, among other issues, deals with social, ecological, and indigenous peoples' rights in Keonjhar.

Human rights defenders Mr Edward Chileka, Mr Howard Jimu and Mr Awonenji Chimera were on 4 March 2010 denied bail by a court in Lilongwe. They had been arrested on 24 February 2010 but only appeared for the first time in court on 2 March.
