On 13 January 2012, human rights defender Mr Mahmoud Abu Rahma was attacked by three unknown armed men in Tal al-Hawa district in Gaza City.

Gaza – Headquarters of human rights organisation Al-Dameer burgled posted on: 2009/11/20

On the morning of Sunday 15 November 2009, the headquarters of human rights organisation Al-Dameer was found to have been burgled, and items belonging to the organisation had been stolen. Al-Dameer Association is one of the largest human rights organisations in the Gaza Strip, working on enhancing and respecting human rights and monitoring violations of human rights, as well as the operation of the parliamentary and judicial systems in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Front Line, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, is gravely concerned for the safety of human rights defenders and humanitarian workers who are operating in the field in Gaza; monitoring and reporting on the horrific outcome of the continuous air raids by the Israeli armed forces and providing much needed help to victims. Human rights defenders include activists and workers in human rights groups, press and media, health services and humanitarian aid workers.
