Front Line is deeply concerned following reports of the arbitrary arrest and detention of human rights defenders and student leaders Paw U Tun, Ko Ko Gyi, Pyone Cho, Min Ze Ya and Htay Kywe on 21 and 22 August 2007 following peaceful demonstrations.
Front Line is deeply concerned about the arrest of 21 student human rights defenders in Iran. On 9 July 2007 a group of student leaders and human rights defenders were arrested during a peaceful student demonstration in Tehran. Since then more arrests have followed.
