Alexandre Ibacka Dzabana is a human rights defender and president of the Association M22, a citizen movement advocating for improved respect and consideration for civil and political rights in the country. The Association also advocates against corruption and governance issues in Congo and is a member of the international campaigning platform ‘’Tournons La Page’’. Alexandre Ibacka Dzabana is also the coordinator of the Congolese Platform of Human Rights and Democracy NGOs.

Republic of Congo

Human rights defenders in the Republic of Congo are subject to intimidation, threats, detention and home arrest, interrogation, false accusations and judicial harassment. Despite the challenges faced, human rights defenders and journalists have been constantly promoting human rights through activities aimed at strengthening the rule of law, good governance, the fight against impunity, transparency of natural resources and citizen participation.
